SHTA Guided Hike: Split Rock Wayside to Beaver Bay
Our first back-to-back hike of the season kicks off with a big day on the Trail. This 11.3 mile trek takes off from Split Rock Wayside and traverses the Merrill Grade, a historic logging railroad, as you head towards the ridgeline to the north of the famous state park. This hike features shots of Lake Superior and inland forests, long stretches of hiking on table rock, and challenging ascents and descents.
A word of caution: this hike is not for beginners! Please be prepared for a longer, more difficult trek on the Trail. Be sure to pack a lunch and extra water for this long day hike.
Meet at Beaver Bay Trailhead. Google Maps: google.com/maps/place/Beaver+Bay+Trailheadfirstname.lastname@example.org,-91.3091265,15z/.
